The Project
Foodfacts.org is a pioneering platform dedicated to providing accurate, reliable, and up-to-date information about the food we consume. Their mission is to empower individuals, policymakers, and industry leaders with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions in an era rife with misinformation. They came to us needing help with a brand and website that was strongly trustworthy and engaging for users.
Our Approach
We collaborated with the Foodfacts team to develop a brand personality that’s motivational, factual, and fun. Working alongside their developer, we designed a website that is easy to navigate and instills user confidence. Additionally, we created a library of animated characters to complement the fact-checking content, further elevating the brand and making it engaging and inspiring — encouraging users to return again and again.

Logo & Branding
The Foodfacts brand personality needed to be highly friendly yet factual — like the voice of a trusted friend. We created a bright, zesty, high-impact visual design that’s consumer-focused, clever, and disarming. Foodfacts is all about delivering facts without spin or fluff, enabling users to make well-informed decisions while clearing up confusion. This brand embodies transparency and honesty — it’s confident, likable (never preachy or judgmental), and approachable. Users should feel unintimidated and comfortable engaging with it. Its playful nature softens the edges, making education both engaging and entertaining.
Website Design
We worked with the foodfacts team and their developers to create a website template design in Figma that was flexible, engaging, and hit all critical brand personality markers. We ensured the website feels trustworthy and credible while also remaining fun, accessible, and engaging.

Characters
A library of 18 unique characters was created to add a playful tone to the social media posts and liven up the website. The fruit- and veggie-based characters each express a unique emotion to go along with different aspects of fact checking, such as “cherry picking” information.
The main character and mascot of the Foodfacts brand is Orlando Orange.
We created a hand-full of different animated emotions for him to be used in different situations.
