Animal Advocacy Careers
LOGO, BRAND IDENTITY, SOCIAL MEDIA GRAPHICS
The Project
Animal Advocacy Careers (AAC) helps people increase their positive impact for animals with career guidance, whether you’re new to animal advocacy or are seeking to build on your existing knowledge skillsets. They help promote job openings in animal advocacy and provide training and advice for those looking to use their career to make change for animals.
Our Approach
AAC was facing some roadblocks when it came to their day-to-day creation of branded materials, and we suggested a brand expansion. We worked with AAC to find ways to communicate their brand personality through their visual brand, and give them a robust visual toolkit to pull from to make their marketing easier. As an organization grounded it networking with people, their communications deserved a cohesive brand package.
The Logo
The original AAC logo was popular among their audience, but was rather inflexible and less functional from a technical design perspective. We also had concerns about uniqueness, since the logo was simply a chevron arrow with no other elements. We built upon the same arrow to create a new mark that maintained that brand equity yet infuse an animal element and increase functionality. The result is a highly abstract mark that can be interpreted as a fish, an owl’s face, or simply a flow chart of shapes to represent a professional’s experience of moving through their career, and AAC’s guidance along the way.
Brand Identity
We maintained the original orange from the previous AAC brand palette, as well as a secondary shade of teal blue. To address common inconsistencies across their materials, we also established a light neutral, dark neutral, and added a dark maroon tone for warmth and friendliness. The result is a modern brand that feels not only professional, but also approachable and kind.
Social Media Graphics
To help with their daily communications needs, we created a suite of flexible social media templates in Canva for their team to use. We infused a variety of colors and patterns to keep the whole feed interesting over time.
Repeating Pattern
The AAC logo mark works well in a repeating pattern, as seen here. The texture is a useful tool to add interest to otherwise flat areas of color in a modern way.
